This blog will serve a variety of purposes, but mostly as a simple place to post my random thoughts, mental musings, and activities somewhere in a slightly more conveninet format than a simple stack of parchments. Plus, typing is easier on my wrist than handwriting, and I can do it at work

Today, it is a lovely cold, yet sunny day. On my way into work I actually felt a lot better than I had for quite a while. The plague-sickness I had last week is slowly fading, and I might actually be able to speak properly in a few more days. This horrid whisper-hack I’ve been doing in place of actual human-tongues is getting old.

Once upon a time, all the birds were rather drab and dull colours. They looked much the same as today’s birds in terms of shape and size, but their feathers all matched each other.

Then, after the rains came one summer evening, a beautiful rainbow filled the sky.

One small bird was flying, and his wings were tired, so he sat down on the rainbow to rest.

After taking a rest, the little bird flew away, and the little cardinal realized he was all red!

Then, a mommy-bird landed on the rainbow, and slid down through the blue and yellow before flying away again. She became a beautiful blue-bird!

Finally, a big daddy-bird tried to land on the rainbow, and was too heavy, so he slid all the way through the colors and landed in the black pot at the bottom. That is how Mr. Crow turned all black.

And so, all the other birds noticed the three colorful birds and all decided to have a picnic party at the rainbow. Each of them flew around the colors and turned all pretty, and that is how birds got their colors!

Not so much with the quality of the “proffessional” renditions of kid’s drawings, but the sheer fact that some artists took the time to do this. To honor a couple kids and make their “scribbles” come alive in a more detailed way. Truly magical for those kids I’d imagine.

Check it out. My personal favorite probably is the big blue thing with eyeballs that fills the bottom 2/3 of the page. The original kid-scetch is such a simple thing, like my son would do. But the “artists rendition” really brings it to life. I’m SURE that this is how kids see their own creations in their minds, so it’s pretty awesome to me.

Another thing is the first few examples, where different artists used the same original scetch to maek their own images. Shows that using the same inspirations, different styles are possible.

The little prince said “Hello Mr Crow”, and waved to his friend.

Then, Mr Crow said “CAW CAW”, which meant “I am hungry.“.

So Prince Doug and Mr Crow sneaked up onto the porch and knocked on the door.

*Knock Knock, Knock*

“Ahhh!” screamed Mommy, who was standing behind the door, “What do you want Prince Dougie?”

“Mr Crow is hungry, and we need to make him a bird-seed sandwich.”, said Doug.

“Well then come inside”, said Mommy”, and we’ll use the kitchen counter.

So Prince Dougie, Mr Crow, and Mommy all went into the house and got out some peanut butter, and a bag of birdseed, and the bread.

Doug took two slices of bread and helped Mommy spread peanut butter all over them. Then he dipped the bread into the birdseed and stuck them together. That made a Bird-seed Sandwich!

Doug went outside and put the sandwich in the bird feeder for his friend.

Mr Crow hopped up, and ate up the sandwich, saying “Caw-aw!” and fluttering his wings, which means “Thank you!“.

Then, Mr Crow flew up into the trees and smiled, because he was not hungry any more.

I have decided (again) to compeltely redesign this sad excuse for a web-based RPG game I have on my site. (http://www.everthorn.net/RPG for those interested.)

As it works now, it is remarkably similar to other games, is unfinished, and too complex to really get anything updated. So I have decided to start over and hopefully make things a bit more self-contained. I’ve learned some things in making the old version, and figured out a slightly better way of processing certain routines, so that an admin control-panel would be more efficient rather than manual edits of the database objects.

It will be quite a while until the code is ready for testing, but I will work on it behind the scenes and once completed, will redirect the folder to the “new” code for actual beta-testing. Until then, wish me luck!
